For over a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping change Canadian children and youth’s perspectives, and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential. And we have over a century of volunteers, donors, and advocates to thank. Our charity’s work all started in 1913, when a woman by the name of Eleanor Adams Hunter, working in the court system in Toronto, founded the first Canadian Big Brother program in Toronto. More than 100 years later, Big Brothers Big Sisters remains true to our founders’ vision of bringing caring role models into the lives of children. And, today, Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Georgian Triangle continues to be the leaders in mentoring services within our community.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a strategic social media and digital marketing role within the organization. The focus of this role is to leverage previous campaigns towards the design and implementation of social media programs that will result in a tangible increase in our overall web traffic and number of new volunteers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Marketing

· Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns on all platforms
· Manage digital content
· Maintain our organic social media presence across all digital channels
· Measure and report on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals
· Identify trends and insights
· Brainstorm and create new growth strategies
· Collaborate with internal teams to update content and optimize visitor experience
· Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
· Evaluate emerging technologies, including providing insights for adoption where appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:
· Possess or working towards a degree in marketing, communications or a related field

Experience:
· Competence with digital marketing, including a high level understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
· Experience with email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
· Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
· Knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
· Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
· Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
· Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an important project coordination role within the organization.  The focus of this role is to support projects related to group programs and fundraising events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Group Activity Lead to assist with our group programs
  • Lead one of our group activities
  • Ability to assist with some casework activities for the right candidate
  • Help drive awareness of our programs within the community
  • Assist children and youth within our programs better engage with various programs
  • Engage with the local community to promote our events
  • Assist with other projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education: Possess or working towards a degree/certificate in child welfare, a STEM discipline, event planning, sports or nutrition discipline, or a related field

Experience:

  • Desire to progress quickly
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Highly attentive to the needs of children and youth
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Access to a car to drive to locations across our catchment area
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
